I'm a freelance Camera Operator/Editor/Director with nearly 20 years broadcast television experience working for large organisations such as: ITV, BBC, Channel 4, etc covering current affairs, factual/lifestyle, documentaries, sport, features and news.
I’ve worked on and contributed to longer form documentary, lifestyle and feature programmes such as: Martin Lewis Money Show, Tonight, Inside Out, The One Show, etc.
I’m happy to work with either a large or small team, or as a self shooter where I interview and film/direct sequences with contributors myself.
I am used to filming with a variety of cameras and different codecs to a professional, broadcast standard.
I own several HD & 4K cameras myself (all minimum HD 422 50). These are a mix of large shoulder mount and smaller handheld cameras, as well as action cameras. I have microphones and lights to cover all situations too.
I can be booked either with or without kit. I am fully insured and have my own public liability cover.
I have considerable experience of live television whether in the studio or on location and have been involved in a wide variety of outside broadcasts from single to multi camera operations. I have also directed outside broadcasts in the past.
I edit with Final Cut X installed on my MacBook Pro laptop. I have the ability to edit and send both rushes & packages from location or home as well.
I started my career in broadcast television as a journalist and qualified as a postgraduate from Cardiff Journalism School (CJS) before moving behind the camera many years ago.
I still use my journalistic skills today, as I regularly self shoot interviews and features where I'm asking the interviewee the questions and directing them whilst filming sequences and set ups.
I am hard working, creative, tactful, diplomatic and always bring something extra to any production that I'm involved with.
