The HDK-73 is now available from GTC Sponsor Ikegami. It's a future-proof multi-role HD HDR camera with full digital processing, delivering broadcast-quality performance at a very affordable entry price level. The camera's HDR capabilities, including Hybrid Log-Gamma, enable high-contrast scenes to be televised with full picture detail across the entire brightness range from strong highlights right through to dark-shaded areas.
"The Ikegami HDK-73 is a very powerful camera with impressive performance and a very affordable price level. Control flexibility was a major factor in our purchase choice. We have invested in five complete systems including DTA-55 and BST-55 digital triax adaptors plus OCP-100 operational control panels which provide direct button operation and include functions such as colour temperature adjustment. The systems are easy to set up, deliver excellent signal quality and have proved very popular with our production team." Customer Recommendation, Masterfilm Croatia
HDK-73 main fetaures
2/3-inch 2.6 megapixel 3-CMOS sensors, each capable of capturing Full-HD 1920 x 1080 resolution video at extremely wide dynamic range
High sensitivity of F-13 at 50 Hz and high signal-to-noise ratio of 60 dB
Advanced end-to-end full digital DSP made possible by the CMOS sensors and including the benefits of high bit quantisation at up to 38 bits within the DSP. Greatly improves quality delivering more natural colour in shadow areas of the picture
Return and QTV channels: Base stations for the HDK-73 support four HD-SDI channels of return video, two each for SDI and VBS. The selected channel can be output from the camera as HD-SDI (upconverted if input in SDTV) and used to feed a talent monitor. Separate prompter channel (QTV) with SDTV input at the base station and SD output at the camera
Natively supports 1080i/59.94 and 1080i/50, as well as 720p/59.94 and 720p/50 HDTV formats
Quick EZ Focus Assist provides distinct enhancement to the viewfinder signal. Viewfinder area, area colour, edge colour and display time are adjustable in the camera menu
Advanced digital detail: Independent horizontal and vertical correction of red, green and blue detail, chromatic aberration correction and optional Anti-Moiré filtering
Critical creative functions can be accessed easily on the camera itself, allowing fast adjustment when shooting live
Super dynamic compression: Advanced digital knee function compresses highlight signals without changing the hue. Provides more saturation and a naturally highlighted picture
Low profile and low weight for improved manoeuvrability during shoulder use
Dockable design allows studio configuration with full remote control as well as self-contained operation for wireless or onsite recording applications
Direct-mount fibre adapter can be connected to the camera head without needing any external cables
External devices such as wireless transmission or a recorder can be attached to the camera head, ideal for live sports, news gathering or field production
SE-H750 system expander enables use of a studio viewfinder and full studio lenses with the HDK-73, converting the portable camera into a full facility studio camera
Quick and easy conversion between studio and portable configuration
Two 1.5G HD-SDI output signals selectable between camera, viewfinder, return and monitor, including the ability to monitor an incoming feed
Choice of 2 inch LCD eyepiece colour viewfinder or a 7.4 inch direct-view OLED or 7 inch LCD high-performance colour viewfinder (see below)

Compact OCP-10 available for field production or wherever space is limited, with optional Ethernet connectivity
Fully compatible with the established Ikegami OCP-100 controller which provides direct button operation and includes functions such as colour temperature adjustment
Optional FA-55 / BSF-55 1.5 RU 19-inch rack-mounting adapter and base station transmitting uncompressed high quality pictures with use of an optical fibre connection between camera and base station. Up to 2 km signal transmission including power
Optional FA-300 fibre adapter and BSF-300 base station can accept a common optical LC-Duplex connector for single-mode fibre cables. Single Mode fibre cable length is up to 10 km where local power is provided to the camera. Hybrid fibre/copper camera alternative allows cost-efficient and flexible integration with cable lengths of up to 350 m
Hybrid power supply: The Ikegami PSU-300 supplies power to the fibre adapter and camera head via a hybrid cable with connection to the base station using a pair of fibres. This extends the overall cable length for existing single-mode fibre infrastructures
