GTC Wildlife Photography Competition 2012

GTC members were given the chance to win a copy of 'Freeze Frame: A Wildlife Cameraman's Adventures on Ice' by Doug Allan

The GTC was delighted that Doug Allan was able to attend the GTC Awards 2012 and to announce the results of the GTC Wildlife Photography Competition in person.

As you can see from the entries below, the standard was very high and the choice therefore difficult. During the presentation ceremony, in an illuminating talk, Doug explained the reasoning behind the judges' final decisions.

The recipients of the books were:

  • Jonathan Marchant for 'Misty Swan'
  • Russsell Cameron for 'Darkness'
  • James Fulcher for 'Fairy Tern' in the Student/Newcomer category

As there was such a large entry, ten pictures were also picked out as 'Highly Commended' and these entrants have been informed and will be sent a large print of their photograph. Very well done to the winners and many thanks to all those who entered the competition.

See more about 'Freeze Frame' at www.dougallan.com or read about it in Zerb.
