GTC Skillset application

In addition to the free workshops and seminars available to members within the annual subscriptions, the GTC has applied to the Skillset Freelance TV Fund to run a series of seven different ‘high-end’ training initiatives in 2009.

The topics proposed in the application (which can be changed once we have a new GTC Workshop Co-Ordinator) are largely based on requests from members and the excellent ideas proposed by Guy Littlemore.

Topics proposed include:

  • Practical Motion Control course
  • Week-long Steadicam course
  • Health & Safety seminar
  • 'Deal or No Deal' – advice on negotiating contracts for GTC camerpersons who do not have an agent
  • New cameras to the marketplace (featuring a range of cameras as Skillset will not support single supplier projects)
  • Shooting for Multi-platform Projects seminar
  • Post-production – workflow considerations workshop
  • Video link systems seminar

Please advise a Council member of any other topics you would like to be considered for the 2009 programme.

The result of our funding application will be known by mid-November 2008 and, if successful, the first event will take place in February 2009.
