Rory Peck Awards 2017 – Call for entries
The only awards dedicated to the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in news and current affairs – the Rory Peck Awards – are now open for entries.
Freelancers worldwide are invited to submit work in the following categories:
Rory Peck Award for News (Duration: up to 10 minutes)
Honours the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in the coverage of one news event where the focus is on the immediacy of the story.
Rory Peck Award for News Features (Duration: up to 30 minutes)
Honours the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in news features that look beyond the immediacy of the news.
Sony Impact Award for Current Affairs (Duration: up to 60 minutes)
Honours the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in long-form current affairs that examines a single issue, story or situation and makes an impact on the viewer.
Across all categories the awards recognise quality of camerawork, but also take into account individual endeavour and journalistic integrity.
We welcome self-funded work and entries from freelancers living and working in regions where it may be difficult to operate. The Awards remain FREE TO ENTER.
Entries must have been broadcast (television, agency feed, recognised online news publisher) between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017.
