The ARRI Lighting Academy

The ARRI Lighting Academy organised by Bill Curtis Associates have a course for anyone interested in improving their lighting knowledge and techniques. Hosted by ARRI (GB) at their headquarters in Uxbridge, London the three-day lighting course is an intensive hands-on experience that puts emphasis on good, practical lighting for the film, television and creative industries. Fundamental lighting theory is backed up with ‘hands-on’ exercises including location shoots and a complex mixed lighting scenario. The course is run for 4–6 delegates and the next dates for this valuable course are Fri–Sun October 10-12. Four places are left at a cost of £675 – no VAT to pay.

There are often a few Skillset Freelance Funded places available at £345 per person and freelancers may also be eligible for funding under Skillset's Screen Bursary scheme. Applications for this scheme take 4–5 weeks to process, but if successful, Skillset can award up to 70% of the total course costs.
