Chris Bell

Finally pursuing my lifelong passion and ambition . Set up my freelance company in August 2011 - nothing large by any means, just helping me gain experience filming and editing at local theatres . I work on small multicam productions , great fun and have learnt so much, but it can be tricky fitting all of this in alongside my pharmaceuticals career. I take each project very seriously and my aim is to give the client a finished piece of work they are delighted with,working very closely to their original brief. Recent customer feedback has been really encouraging and this makes me even more determined to push myself harder, learn as much as I can and succeed. .My ultimate goal is to gain enough experience to break into this wonderful industry fulltime, be it Freelance or working for a Production company. Attended a BBC `Studio Camera Skills course`, in Wood Norton with Andrew Vale, in May 2011. Attended the BVE in London last year and BVE North 2012 this year ,which gave me a great insight into the new equipment and formats hitting the industry. Have a good knowledge of older Video Formats, going back to Sony EIAJ, Philips VCR format ( Philips N1500, N1700) etc and have a large collection of working video machines, Philips VCR, V2000, Betamax, Superbeta, VHS, Betacam and 1` C Format which I use for my own enjoyment and to transfer tapes for people. Shadowed Camera Supervisor Alan Bayley at BBC TV Centre, June 2012 on the show `Don`t Sit In The Front Row` Have attended two workshops since being a GTC member, one at Granada (May 2012) and one at the London ITV studios (Aug 2012), where at the latter,was able to use superb Sony HDC1000R cameras with huge OLED viewfinders and mounted on Vinten Fulmar and Quattro peds. The ITV staff were fantastic and I had plenty of `hands on` ,completing various exercises they had put together for myself and the other members of the workshop. I am fully mobile and prepared to travel worldwide, should the opportunity arise. Loving it all!!!
