Aerial DOP flies in from Germany for GTC Awards

The GTC is delighted to welcome aerial cameraman Peter Thompson, who recently
worked on the multi-million dollar film Home,
to the BFI as one of the speakers in theGTC Awards day programme of seminars. Peter flew in for the Awards from Germanywhile his wife came all the way from New Zealand for the event.

Peter was one of an impressive list of DOPs involved in the massive project dubbed an "ode to the planet" featuring landscapes of 54 countries filmed from the air. The film was released simultaneously in 50 countries on World Environment Day (5 June 2009). Directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand,
the aim of the film with its stunning imagery, was to show the treasures of the world and to highlight the damage being imposed on the balance of the earth by man.
