New GTC Council members

GTC Council expands

Following an appeal by GTC Chairman, Brian Rose, the GTC Council is delighted to have been joined by no less than six new members following the latest Council meeting on 11 January.

The new Council members are assistant cameraman James Fulcher, lighting cameramen Simon Roe, Eric Samuel and Phil Rowe, DoP Stefan Otto and last but very defiinitely not least, DoP and lighting guru John Rossetti.

John takes over as Secretary after Dudley Darby’s tireless five-year stint in the job. We would particularly like to express our thanks to Dudley for his tremendous efforts in looking after many aspects of the GTC's running for so many years.

Brian expressed his delight at the newly expanded Council. "It means that we can carry out our present activities and even expand on what we are doing. I’m particularly pleased that we have been joined by younger members of the Guild, meaning that the Council better reflects the membership itself. We have an even more lively Council now."

The GTC has some very ambitious plans, especially in the areas of workshops and continuing professional development, as well as in further developing facilities offered by the website and building on the Awards event at the BFI. The fact that the GTC is able to deliver so much is because of an extraordinary amount of behind the scenes work by Council members .

We are always keen to hear from members about new ideas to expand the GTC.
