Mo-Sys leads the Virtual Production conversation at NAB 2024

Florian Gallier from Mo-Sys

GTC Patron, Mo-Sys Engineering, is hosting an exciting mix of keynote presentations, panel discussions, demonstrations and education sessions on its booth at NAB 2024 (C5529). In partnership with industry-leading companies, the program will take on the hottest trends in virtual production (VP) and will be supported by a selection of Mo-Sys technology.

Booth C5529, NAB Show, Las Vegas 14-17 April 2024

The sessions include a deep dive into instant environment capture of real location for VP with Volinga and a discussion on interactivity and virtual production by interactive livestreaming studio Hyper. Meanwhile, Robovision will outline what democratized remote production and AR graphics delivered for NBC at the Players Championship and Mo-Sys will share its secrets to record-breaking efficiency in filming, using hybrid virtual production to deliver 492 shots in two weeks with a 9-person crew and no overtime. Girraphic will discuss virtual production and augmented graphical integrations for broadcast. AWS and Mo-Sys will explain how the Mo-Sys NearTime automated cloud re-rendering service (in AWS) for on-set VP delivered astoundingly cost-efficient VFX for Dr Who’s 60thanniversary special.

On the technical front, ETC Lights will demonstrate what a difference its 8-LED lights make when it comes to replicating skin tone and its unique features for use on camera. ETC Lights supplied by GTC Patron, 3LR Lighting were used to light the GTC 50th event.  Also on the booth, Fujinon will showcase the use of its Premista lens for Mo-Sys hybrid production and box lens for remote production, in combination with the Mo-Sys U50 remote head. Brompton will explore not only how its LED processor for VP can be used for colour accurate virtual production, but also how it co-developed an exciting “digital stars” solution with Mo-Sys for camera tracking. Mo-Sys and NVIDIA will give insights on ST 2110, virtual production and NVIDIA Holoscan for Media. And finally, LG will explain the incredible impact of CoB LEDs on filming output.

Florian Gallier, strategic partnerships manager at Mo-Sys, who also gave a keynote speech at the GTC 50th event, says:

With events happening every hour on the Mo-Sys booth throughout the day, we aim to offer insight from industry leaders by engaging with speakers about real-life projects and how they apply the latest technology that defines the industry today. We have over 20 years of industry experience in the conception, production and installation of full turnkey and bespoke virtual production solutions, which makes Mo-Sys the perfect host for these groundbreaking discussions. Together, we will examine what is coming over the horizon and the next steps we must take to future proof VP.

The presentations will be brought to life by a collection of Mo-Sys technology. Mo-Sys will present MoViewer, an unlimited XR multi-camera switching technology for directors with LED walls allowing higher image quality without restricting creativity. The booth will also showcase Mo-Sys' StarTracker MAX optical camera tracking system; the VP Pro XR dedicated cinematic XR Server; the U50 remote head; the L40 and B20 remote heads; the TimeCam ultra remote production with delay compensation and the G30 gyro-stabilized heavy-duty camera head.
