The Media Production and Technology Show returns on 11-12 May, at London, Olympia after a two year pandemic induced hiatus. The event resumes service with a bumper and free conference programme and larger than ever technology showcase delivering face to face insight into the key trends impacting production and post.
Opening the show is BAFTA and RTS award winning Louis Theroux, who will talk through his extensive career in documentary production. Keynotes include BAFTA winning multi-hyphenate Adam Deacon who champions urban storytelling; and a behind the scenes look at shiny floor shows The Masked Singer, The Wheel and Strictly Come Dancing from their producers.
As might be expected a lot of the discussion centres on how the industry can emerge fitter, stronger and happier from enforced isolation and jury-rigged workflows of the Covid-era.
Expert panels debate:
There’s a special focus on Virtual Production with an LED stage for visitors to experience; an expanded Audio Theatre covers the latest trends and innovations in sound; and a new Technology Theatre is trained on 5G, AI/ML, Cloud and the Metaverse.
Perhaps the single most missed ingredient in the industry under Covid was the inability to network and enjoy serendipitous professional discovery. MPTS will set this right as Kensington becomes the hive of the UK’s massive, growing and world class creative industries.
Charlotte Wheeler, Director, Broadcast Tech & Sport Group at show organiser’s MBI says:
With the UK as a vibrant and essential hub for so many of the world’s best content creators, MPTS is perfectly positioned to bring creator excellence together. We are so excited to welcome everyone to our biggest programme yet that delivers a real hands-on experience of the latest technologies, together with world-class speakers covering all aspects of audio, content creation, pre-production, production, post and distribution.
