Neil Trierweiler
Having lived in West Berlin in the 1980’s I developed from an early age a desire to explore the world and the many different cultures it has to offer. Living by the most visual point of the “Iron Curtain” gave me a great understanding of modern history, but was also where I discovered my love for the Arts, in particular in photography. Returning from Berlin, fluent in German after nearly two years I continued with my hobby until I had the opportunity to study media at a higher education level. After graduating from Plymouth Art College, with a HND in media production I spent the next six years receiving broadcast training from a London based facilities company. During this time I gained valuable technical knowledge of engineering and maintance of all types of broadcast cameras, minicams and other professional broadcast equipment as well as workingon a wide variety of productions both studio and PSC/ENG and multi camera/OB’s. The knowledge I acquired, whilst at the facilities company, prepared me for a freelance career as a lighting cameraman, which I began on 4th July 2000. Coincidently US Independence day! My freelance career has been wide ranging, increasing my knowledge and experience on many different production types and locations. I have been fortunate to work with lots of talented crews and production teams from across the world, where I have found being bilingual areal asset. I have a reputation for working in a calm and fun way, being diverse and a good team player. I am reliable, bond quickly with people and understand the pressures of those I work with. I have good attention to small details and enjoy being experimental with my work trying to develop a new look and feel for each project. I am a Bectu member with £3 million world wide public liability insurance and a member of the Guild of Television Cameramen. I have a clean driving license and can offer crew transport with business insurance up to five people. Along with the crew transport I have a wide range of broadcast equipment, which is also available for hire. I am an enthusiastic and active person enjoying a wide range of activities such as kayaking, walking, cycling and Pilates to name a few.
