I have been working as a professional drone operator since March 2016. I operate several drones including two Inspire 2 SUA with X5S and X7 cameras, and licenses to record in ProRes. I have worked on many productions from my base in Shetland, the most northerly group of island in the UK, 120 miles north of the Scottish mainland. Production include BBC's "Shetland" crime drama, produced by ITV Studios. We (myself and my camera operator Dave Donaldson) worked on series IV and V, and are scheduled to shoot series VI when filming resumes after lockdown. I am also currently working on VFX shots for The North Water which is currently in production. Other work includes BBC news and documentary programmes, ITN, Sky and Russia Today (UK). I also work with many corporate productions, given my location I regularly film oil, gas and decommissioning projects. I also have a complete suite of equipment for terrestrial filming, including Panasonic GH5 with Atomos external recorder, various high-end mics and sound recording equipment. Full time freelance, I am able to provide all your aerial and terrestrial filming requirements in Shetland.
