Bright Tangerine unveils the Halo Universal Camera Cage

GTC Patron Bright Tangerine (UK) has officially unveiled the Halo: a new universal camera cage system. Designed to be a multipurpose cage for filmmakers with multiple cameras or frequent upgrades, the Halo is a streamlined solution for any camera. 

Mounting to 15mm rods, the Halo is fully compatible with 15mm LWS baseplates or the new Universal Dovetail: an alternate mount from Bright Tangerine for both DJI gimbals and Manfrotto tripods.

Any Camera, Anywhere

The Halo is a minimal rigging solution that can be used with any camera setup: from compact hybrid cameras through to full-fledged box cameras. This helps eliminate the “graveyard of gear” issue facing filmmakers and content creators, and makes transitions between setups quick and easy.

Endless Life Cycle

As with all Bright Tangerine products, the anti-landfill ethos comes first. The Halo is robustly designed to be a long-lasting shooting solution, with a durable aluminium build able to take up to 10kg of weight without flexing.

Rig the Cage, Not the Camera

The Halo mounts to 15mm rods, making it compatible with a huge range of setups. The cage doesn’t bolt onto the camera itself but instead surrounds it with accessory mounting points such as 1/4" and 3/8” screw threads, as well as integrated NATO rails, Cold Shoe mounts and QD sockets. The cage remains compact whilst also accommodating cameras of any size.

The Halo System

Along with the affordable cage itself, a number of other camera accessories can be combined to enhance the Halo. An Arca Riser and Receiver can be mounted to the Dovetail, which double as both a quick-release plate for cameras, and elevate smaller cameras to avoid lenses clashing with the Universal Dovetail. There is also the Create Baseplate, which serves as a secure mounting point for multiple plate standards (Arca, DJI and Manfrotto) for seamless transitions between setups.

Release Date

The Halo is available to buy now from Bright Tangerine’s website and affiliated resellers. Four kits are available, with two featuring the Arca Riser-Receiver combination which gives extra clearance for small cameras.
