Panavision-RED-Light Iron 8K camera collaboration announced

In a historic collaboration, RED Digital Cinema, Panavision and post-production experts Light Iron are collaborating on the newly announced Panavision DXL – an 8K camera capable of 8K/60p RAW + 4K ProRes proxies.

The new Panavision DXL features an 8K RED-made sensor while post-production gurus Light Iron have created a custom colour science tailored to the sensor with maximum flexibility in post-production in mind. The camera will be able to record 8K RAW files simultaneously with 4K ProRes or DNxHR proxies.
